We took 15 teens and six leaders to Camp Jonah in Trout Lake, WA. for a week of camp. We did everything from the high ropes course to climbing into a cave and playing in the mud pit. The weather and the setting were beautiful and we really enjoyed being surrounded by God's creation for a few days.
The most important part of the week was hearing God's Word on a daily basis and being challenged to have transformed worship, service and faith. Joe Castenada was our speaker and he used the lives of Josiah, David and the woman at the well to challenge us to be "room changers". We need to so have the aroma of Christ around us that people are drawn to Him by seeing us. We had three teens out of our group trust Christ to be their Savior and many other decisions were made as well.
Many thanks to the staff at Camp Jonah for their warm and helpful spirit and for being such a great part of the week. Plan to join us next year at the same time for another life changing week at camp.
Our teens spent three days with another youth group from Olympia and had a great time. They did everything from playing table games to playing paintball to riding ATV's. They also spent time studying the Bible and singing. It was a great way to make new friends. Thanks to all who helped out with food, driving the boat, cleaning up and supervising.
